Custom Homes On Remote Mountain Land

We build custom homes on remote, wooded mountain land in Northwest Montana, from the Flathead Valley to the Yaak, planned from the land first and built to stand a long way from town.

Far From The Road, Built Right

The Land Decides The House

Built Right in Montana builds custom homes on remote, wooded mountain land in Northwest Montana, from our offices in Kalispell and Eureka. Our Eureka office serves Lincoln County, including the Yaak in the Purcell Mountains, and one number reaches both offices: (406) 471-5613. Our Secluded Flathead Montana Luxury stands deep in the Yaak, in 2,300 square feet of living space, where the nearest neighbor is a long way off, and that is the point.

The exterior combines stone and cedar accents with Louisiana Pacific siding in three styles, including shingle, finished with custom metal fascia, a matte black modern garage door and a modern glass front door. Inside, Pacific pine flooring and accent beams warm the rooms, transom windows pull the mountain light deep into the house, and a mountain lookout office turns the workday into a view of the Purcells. It has three bedrooms plus the lookout loft, two and a half bathrooms and a 350 square foot garage.

The Work You Never See

Built To Stand On Its Own

Some of the best work on the Yaak home is the work you never see. The crawlspace is fully encapsulated, which keeps the home dry, efficient and comfortable year after year, and every foot of the house was built to stand on its own, a long way from town.

On a wooded, hilly site we plan for three things first: machinery that has to reach the lot through steep terrain and standing timber, skilled trades and deliveries that arrive when the weather allows, and premium weather-resistant materials that ship slowly and are ordered ahead of winter. A site evaluation comes before the design is final, alongside local excavation people.

Before You Break Ground

What We Check On A Remote Lot

Land and site review is the second step of every build we do, and on remote land it matters most. We walk the lot for access, utilities, septic feasibility, terrain and views.

Can a concrete truck reach the site, and can you reach it in January? Where is the nearest power, and what would it take to bring it to the building site? Will a septic system be permitted, and where is a well likely to land? How do slope and standing timber change the foundation and the driveway?

Much of Northwest Montana is also wildland-urban interface, so defensible space, fire-resistant materials and ember-resistant vents belong in the design from the start. On Mountain Modern Living, high on a mountainside with no neighbors in sight, a generous fire control zone protects the home.

High On A Mountainside

Mountain Modern Living sits high on a Montana mountainside with no neighbors in sight. A large glass wall opens the living space to the view, the master suite sits under a full glass ceiling, and a generous fire control zone protects the home. It has 3,700 square feet of living space and an 800 square foot garage.

Remote Land, Answered

Building from another state? Our guide to building in Montana from out of state covers the land, the plans, the updates and the visits.

Who builds custom homes on remote, wooded mountain land in Northwest Montana?

Built Right in Montana does, from our offices in Kalispell and Eureka. Secluded Flathead Montana Luxury stands in the Yaak, in the Purcell Mountains, where the nearest neighbor is a long way off, and Mountain Modern Living stands high on a mountainside with no neighbors in sight.

Do you build in the Yaak and the rest of Lincoln County?

Yes. We serve Lincoln County from our Eureka office at 45 Wards Crescent Rd, Eureka, MT 59917, including the Yaak, where we built Secluded Flathead Montana Luxury.

Will you look at my land before I buy it?

Yes. Land and site review is a step in our process: access, utilities, septic feasibility, terrain, views, covenants and buildability. Call (406) 471-5613 or send the project questionnaire to start.

Can you build on remote land if I live out of state?

Yes. Many of the families we build for are moving to Northwest Montana from another state. We review the land before you buy, refine the plans with you, agree how and how often you will hear from us before anything starts, and plan your visits around the decisions that are easiest in person.
