Mountain Modern Home Builder
Mountain modern custom homes in the Flathead Valley and across Northwest Montana: clean lines, a wall of glass to the view, and stone and wood to warm it, built for a Montana winter.
It is far cheaper to move a wall with an eraser than a sledgehammer.
A Modern House That Knows Where It Is
Built Right in Montana builds mountain modern custom homes in the Flathead Valley and across Northwest Montana, from our offices in Kalispell and Eureka. Our Mountain Modern Living Flathead Montana is 3,700 square feet of glass, stone and wood high on a Montana mountainside, and you can call us about yours at (406) 471-5613. A mountain modern home keeps the clean lines of modern design and answers to the place it stands: a wall of glass toward the view, stone and wood to warm the rooms, and a structure planned for Montana snow, wind and wildfire.
Mountain Modern Living shows how we build one, with no neighbors in sight. A large glass wall opens the living space to the view, a custom built fireplace anchors the room, and a huge skylight pours daylight across epoxy floors. The master suite sits under a full glass ceiling, with a Flathead soaker tub and a master shower with a sauna right beside it. The kitchen is tailor-made, with Thermador appliances, a geode island, hand blown pendants and live-edge floating shelves over a wine bar. It has three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, a shared home office, a dedicated home gym and an 800 square foot garage.

Modern Lines, Rustic Heart
Modern Living Montana Built carries the same ideas in 2,000 square feet of living space. It starts at a grand entry with accent lighting, and the welcome keeps going from there: steel beams over a warm fire, a coffered ceiling with rustic accents, and a kitchen of hickory and granite that looks straight out at the view. The master suite has craftsman tile and a dark pine closet, there is a large garage with work space, and when the sun goes down, custom night lighting brings out the stone and the glass. It has three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms and a 660 square foot garage, and its roof is fire resistant.
Glass Is The Signature, So We Plan For It First
A wall of glass is what makes a mountain modern home, and a large window package is also one of the things that pushes a budget in Northwest Montana, along with complex rooflines for snow load, structural steel and mechanical systems.
We do not answer that by cutting the things that matter. We value engineer on paper, where changes are cheap, to find where the money makes the biggest difference, and we plan every home around a superior thermal envelope and heavy-duty snow load considerations, built for Flathead winters and winds.
A hillside lot adds its own questions. Slope affects excavation, foundation design, driveways and drainage, so we walk the land for access, utilities, septic feasibility, terrain and views before the design is final, and we place the house so it earns the view without fighting the ground.
Fire is part of the plan too. On Mountain Modern Living a generous fire control zone protects the home, and the roof of Modern Living Montana Built is fire resistant, because a beautiful home in the pines should also be a smart one.
Fly Through A Mountain Modern Home We Built
One continuous flight through Mountain Modern Living: down the long hall, across the epoxy floors, through the tailor-made kitchen, and into the master suite and its soaker tub.
Glass, stone and wood
Two homes, one language: the walls of glass and the daylight they let in, and the stone, steel and wood that warm them.
